The article that we are using for the pod cast, is about the medical advances, and discoveries over the past 200 years. It talks about that the very fist signs of diabetes were discovered all the way back in 1500 bc, and was then again noticed through the Roman era. It talks about how for centuries, those diagnosed with diabetes had short, and painful lives. The journal explains that through the discovery of a few world changing drug to treat diabetes, in particular insulin, which revolutionized the way it was treated. Also stated was that even with all these new advances, the amount of patients with diabetes has sky rocketed, almost to the point of am epidemic. As well as the fact that even with all these new treatment discoveries, any chance of a cure has been elusive to any one who has tried. As stated before the overall article is about the past 200 years of diabetes, how it has changed, for better and worse.
